Shocked? Well, it's true. In one demographic. Women with a college education.

Article is in WSJ... Book is Marriage Markets by June Carbone and Naomi Cahn. Book Review Section. Can't link WSJ but here is a review.

90% of women go to college for their MRS degree. The other 10% weren't good enough to graduate in that field and moved on to something else.

You are a sexist bastard. If your parents were actually married I apologize for the 'bastard.'

Hell, I don't "personally" know ANY libertarians, but my wife could possibly be a candidate.

My woman is a Libertarian.

She's whatever I tell her to be..... The exception being "in the mood".

I have not read the book but certainly intend to. My initial reaction to reading the description of the book is that the authors have the causal direction wrong. It is not that inequality that has caused changes in family structure, but rather that changes in family structure have had serious effects on poverty and income inequality. I will be interested to see if they consider that alternative explanation for the relationship between inequality and family structure.

The title was "Marriage Markets: How Inequality is Remaking the American Family"

Sounds like the title should have been . . . . .

. . . . Marriage Markets: How the American Family is Remaking Inequality.

My take on the article...Smart women get married before having children. Stupid women do not get married before having children. It's not that complicated.

Ok, taking a stab at it.. It seems contradictory because college girls have access to unlimited males for pole riding for 4 years. However, the fact that they have a college degree implies

1) they have at least some semblance of future planning skills
2)they are educated in birth control methods.
