Bill Clinton laughs about buying 14 fancy Swiss watches

I guess the cutoff between being "not that well off" and "well off" is 14 watches and two rugs. The 15th watch or third rug would have pushed them into "well off" status.
But we do know that ownership of one horse immediately pushes one into that category (see Romney, Ann).

I've never seen anybody brag about being so wealthy while at the same time try to portray himself as "one of us."

I do not think there is a delineation between "wealthy" and "one of us"

The Clinton's have been obsessed with wealth for a very long time. What's that saying......you can't serve two masters.....money is their master.

That's why, imo, they moved to NY state instead of staying in Ark. More media exposure, more money to be had. Maybe also the fact that I think they didn't even own a home in Ark. If they did it wasn't common knowledge.
I think Slick would have come back if not for her national political ambitions. Arkansas was nothing but the trailer park temporarily lived in while the big house was under construction.

Apparently that used to be Jimmy Hoffa's stump speech when organizing...
He'd get up and start talking about how much money he was able to make, with the inference being that he was one of "the guys" who had succeeded because of the union.

To be fair, we all know those people who wear 14 accessories but are still sorta poor. You know.... ______ rich. That's what the Clintons are.
