Because there are too many, and it's annoying having to click between all of them to see all of the material that was once nicely consolidated. I find that I'm reading the website less and less because of it.

I know it's been mentioned before, but would admins at the very least consider someday consolidating some of the boards, like Movie/TV/Music, Tech/Gaming, maybe Health/Lifestyle? At least that would create less of a need for constant navigation.

Just seems like you could compromise and create a larger viewership. Just my $0.02.

When on TD, do as the TDers do.

Amount of traffic and posters will determine if more boards are added.

there are too many

Would you like a board where you start a thread and if it doesn't get any replies within five minutes or so, it's on the bottom of the 2nd page by then?

I guess it could go either way. Kind of depends on your interests. For someone like me, who is interested in a little bit of everything, I much preferred when most things were on the OT because I could jump from topic to topic with ease.

But for people who are super passionate about one topic such as music, or technology, or gaming, or politics, or what have you, it's a lot more convenient to have it separated.

For example, I'm never like "hmm, I'm in a techy mood today, let's head on over to the tech board and read!" But if someone posts something of interest to me in the tech field on the OT, I will probably click on it. Whereas a computer programmer who might LOVE technology is grateful to weed out all of the other BS from the OT

Your last sentence nails it for me. Any attempt to separate a topic from the douchebags on the OT will get support from me. And you don't have to be a computer programmer to enjoy the Tech Board or Bear Grylls to enjoy the OB.

I agree that you don't need to be an expert to enjoy a board. But for me, it was much more convenient to peruse a multitude of topics in one condensed area than to only look at a big long list of threads pertaining to one of my many interests.

I also think the OT is declining due to the fact that the topics that made it entertaining have all been systematically filtered out to leave mainly douchey threads

It would actually be pretty cool if they had a page where you could select which boards you wanted to show on that page. Kind of like Reddit's front page, except I would just want it to show everything in chronological order rather than fancy top threads.

I'm glad I got fast Internet (not OT baller-fast, but reasonably fast). Allows me to quickly and easily click from the OT to the Tech Board to the Help Board. Not really a hassle at all.

The sub boards do water down one of the major appeals of the website: The OT. I miss the consolidated, grab bag that was the OT as well.

I wonder if any of the sub boards will ever be deleted due to low interest/traffic. I know some boards have come and gone due to their topical nature, but I'm not familiar with any of the sub boards getting deleted for lack of interest. In the event one gets deleted, I wonder which would be the first to go. Money Talk, maybe?

The last thing I want to do is click on the M/TV board and see 20 phish threads.

How about a guns, boobs, and beer board?

Kind of like the OB, OT, and F&DB consolidated into one.
