I hate trading Anderson, but he's an asset that other teams would be willing to accept. Trade him for a top 10 pick and take McDermott. He fills our need for a SF and a lights out shooter. Then we would have the money to work out a sign and trade for a center.

I'm not sure of the specifics on the sign and trade but would the rights to Jackson and a future 1st get a Monroe or Asik?

Yeaaa I figured that haha…obviously I'd love to trade EG but no one will take him…and Jrue would be the only other option to trade which would be crazy after what we just gave up to get him ONE year ago.

I'd rather Reke at the 2 and McDermott will be on a rookie contract..we will have to get rid of one of the big contracts we have in order to pay AD in the future. Might as well roll the dice now..

Jrue
Reke
McDermott
AD
Monroe/Asik??

Anderson is def our #1 trade asset. But I don't think he's worth a top 10 pick, specially coming off the injury.

I love Anderson. I made the case 2 seasons ago he was the best player on our team, and most nights best player on the court, pre all star break. That said, he wore out the 2nd half. Was it conditioning, or was it because the opponent game planned for him more?

I know it's the white guy comparison, but how much better pro will McDermott be than Wally Z.?

I like McBuckets as well and it doesn't seem like there's much chatter about him, am I missing something?

Player of the year; 4 year starter (like Lillard); can STROKE; fills a need, etc…

Can he play D or no? Anderson couldn't..

I feel like he should be the target…its not that sexy pick but he's basically an Anderson clone (assuming he can keep up in the NBA) for pennies on the dollar.

Wait, draft McDermott to play SF? Might as well keep Anderson.

He measured shorter than people expected. He's a good 2" shorter than Anderson.

However, he was way more athletic than people expected, as well.

But are we really trying to get a top 10 pick?!

Dell and Monty can't afford to trade an experienced, fringe 6th man of the year player for a rookie. They need to win now.

I'd be tuned in to the draft tomorrow night…there's A LOT of talk of us getting into the top half of the first round.

I read earlier that we had conversations about sending Jrue to SAC for the 8th pick but we backed off bc we didn't want to include Jrue in any deal…take it for what its worth but there is definitely a rumble.

Oh yea,I'll DEFINITELY be watching.

And I just can't see us trading Jrue after we JUST got him around this time last year.

While this is true, you can't judge this move in a vacuum. Swapping Ryno for McDermott saves you about $6.5 million if you can do it without taking any contracts back. Add $6.5 to the $6.7 million in cap space you can create by cutting the most cuttable players and you have enough cap space to absorb Asik and sign a 1 year stop gap SF like Richard Jefferson while McDermott learns to play.

I saw a quote from Wally Szcerbiack last week where he said he saw a lot of himself in McDermott.

More realistic is trade for a late first round pick and get GR3 or Celanthony early
