Reading the complete falsehoods uttered by the Administration regarding the economy and the big first quarter downturn today and how what is being said today is completely different from what was said a couple of months ago, and watching the IRS mess, the VA, border security, and basically everything else going on, it seems pretty obvious that there is no such thing as truth. People say one thing one day and then the next say something totally different - and if they are in a certain camp, they never get called on it because, at the end of the day, power is all that matters.

And, I know, the Republicans did the same with Iraq and whatnot. Still, the amount of outright lying going on makes "Tricky" Dick Nixon look like George Washington. And, we are all completely used to it by now.

I am at the point where I know that a Democrat is lying when they are just talking. Truth can literally not be found.

What would it take to bring us back to a point where the Media did their job and brought accountability and where politicians could be trusted to tell the truth at least half of the time?

Trust is gone. Completely. And, a lack of trust in society is a mark of an under developed country economically according to accepted cultural indicators. We are there.

I guess that depends on how you define liar.

Liar = Someone who lies a lot.

Saying one thing on one day and then completely contradicting it on another occasion and then saying you didn't say what you said or that it didn't mean what it meant would constitute a lie as well.

It seems that those involved in politics (including the Media) just peddles lies over and over again without regard for the truth at all.

It all depends on how you define "liar".

Omitting certain things from reports.
Selectively choosing the way things are stated so your audience will view it a certain way.
Etc.

IMO, yes, they are all liars.

It would be easier (and shorter) to list politicians who don't meet this definition.

I have one off the top:

I am sorry to say that our elected officials are no more honest than we are as a people. Telling half-truths and omitting things is an American characteristic I am sorry to say.
