Elderly mother in law has a bee problem at her house. We saw the bees on the outside where the roof peaks, after a closer look, we realized there were thousands of them swarming all around the area. Went inside & could hear them in the wall. Any suggestions or recommendations on who to call to take care of this? She lives in Lafayette. TIA.

Bee type? I'm guessing honey, if hornets I advise she leave post haste.

I have heard of a dawn soap mixture that you can spray into the area that will kill them or make them leave. But dead bees in the wall will stink!

Find a local beekeeper and they will come get the queen, once the queen is gone they will leave. Plus he'll probably share the honey with ya!!

Any exterminator will handle it.

I had a huge hive in a wall of my hunting cabin. I called a beekeeper and he came and got the queen. He took most of the hive and they were gone. I cleaned up the honey.

Don't kill them, call a beekeeper. They will remove it for free to keep the queen

My boss is on round 4 with the exterminator and his honey bees. He won't listen.

Shoot man honey bees have been disappearing for the last few years. Good money in honey and a beekeeper would go out of his way for a hive of bees right now.

I had yellowjackets in the outside wall of my house last year. Doused the opening with a can of spray, then they found an opening to the inside. They were pissed, and shite got real for a while.

It sounds like you have a colony of honey bees. The good thing is that you don't have to do anything if you don't need to do any repairs at that end of the house. If the entrance to the colony is up at the peak, the "bee fly zone" to and from the colony shouldn't cause and problems with humans or pets walking around at ground level. Contact a bee keeper for removal. Make sure you understand how he's going to try to remove the bees and any repairs to the house this may involve. Last resort is to call an exterminator.

Herbert's Honey. He's around the Rayne area. He's had to come to my house because my neighbors gives flooded. He'll have them removed but plan for a long run of trouble keeping them away. If any part of the comb stays, another colony will take over the hive
