If you sign up online, is it possible to request a certain tech or company for installation?
If you can, any recommendations in Baton Rouge?

I just signed up for Dish. And I used to be a longtime DirecTV customer.
No comparison between the two, in terms of equipment and customer service experience.
If you decide to sign up, let me know. I can get you a $50.00 credit off your 2nd bill.
To answer your question, the two people that installed my satellite were based out of Kenner and worked directly for Dish Network.

Short answer, no. If you choose a local provider then you can work out a specific employee of your choosing but if you are just calling in or ordering online they will select the installer.

By all means deal direct with the satellite company and not with one of their dealers. You'll get a pro installation by people who know what they're doing. Half the problems I read about are probably caused by installers who were hired at the Home Depot parking lot.

So far, it has been great. The guide is super fast, no lag time and I can watch live TV on the go from my mobile device.
Have called into customer service once after installation and my experience with them was exactly what I wanted and needed.
No regrets and doubtful I will consider ever going back to DTV.

Will-
what was your reason for leaving? SEC network or other?
if I decide on Dish, I'll bump this thread if I can still get a credit.
Thanks.
