Both are great self defense guns and will both work when life and limb are at stake... But if I have to wear it everyday.. I carry a Glock 19 9mm, with that said, I own 3 1911's and they are all dependable. The glock just weighs less and is more comfortable on a daily basis.

It's also dependent on the shooter. Some people aren't ready for the recoil of a 1911 and could put more power down range with a Glock.. But proficient shooters can handle a 1911 and put the power of a 45 down range very effectively.. The Glock 21 45acp is just too big for my hand comfortably.. I would rather have the capacity of a 9mm with good hollow points and put about 450 pounds of muzzle energy down range faster than fewer rounds of 45acp with 600 pounds of muzzle energy.

The best answer is come into the store, see how each gun fits into your hand, and which one fits you the best. Everyone is different.. There is no one answer for everyone..

I'm a bargain shopper and one of my distributors had Colt 1911's at $200 to $300 off normal price.. I can't advertise the price because it's below MAP (minimum advertised price) guide lines.. It's a smoking deal..6 in stock, 4 coming tomorrow.

Most important question in this thread right here:

Can you get Colt Delta Elites? And if you can get them at a good price, I guarantee you there's at least 3 buyers just in this forum alone.

Also, I'm looking for a Remington Nylon 66, in decent shape... Think you can scrounge one up?

I can second his customer service and willingness to go the extra mile. He found two types of ammo I couldn't find anywhere for months. And he made me a smoking deal on an O/U.

I'd be interested in colts, especially series 70 or delta elite.

The Colt 70 series are currently only about $50 off on sale and the Delta Elite's are currently out of stock, but I do run across them on a regular basis at a pretty good price.. Call me tomorrow and we can discuss pricing and I will get your contact info to call to see if you still want one when the Delta Elites' are produced again on the next production run.. 225-634-3444

I will keep my eye open for a Nylon 66. We have had 3 run through the shop in the past two years. I have seen a Mohawk and a standard.

What kind of price do you have on the Ruger SR1911 lightweight commander model?

The Ruger commander 1911 typically sales for $725 plus tax when we have it in stock or available on a credit card purchase, the cash price would be $699 plus tax. We typically don't carry CZ pistols in stock, but can order them. The Rami 9mm would typically run around $575. I will have to look around and see which distributor has both of these guns in stock to order in..
