I'm almost done with Breaking Bad and would like to watch a historical type show next. Which of those is better, or is there anything else I should check out?

I've seen Spartacus and Rome already.

I did not really get in to Tudors but I thought The Borgias was great.

Tudors. To be fair, I have not seen Borgias; however, you won't be disappointed with Tudors.

Both are awesome.

Borgias was cancelled before it could be completed though.

I'm watching the Tudors now (like as in right now) and I'm almost through the 1st season. I'm pretty meh on it so far. Every time it seems like it's going to get good, they throw something super cheesy or boring in there. They almost lost me on the plague episode

I dunno, I'm gonna keep watching but I'm not hooked yet by any means.

The main guy really hams it up sometimes.

Tudors then Borgias. Tudors was a lot better IMO.

I never watched Borgias, but I enjoyed the Tudors when I watched it.

That's how I feel so far. They kill people off like in GoTs but they do it without letting anyone get attached to them so it's not really effective.

Maybe I just watched it too close to GoTs and am subconsciously comparing

Tudoes I just gave up on after a season and a half or so. It was pretty good but nothing special.

Borgias--assuming you mean the Showtime one with Jeremy Irons, not the off brand one--is very good but ends too soon

If you meant the off-brand Borgias its meh but I've watched all of it.

The Borgias in Netflix I think is the one with Irons. That's the one.

The Showtime one is the one with Irons. It may be streaming on Netflix but Netflix had their own version that only lasted one season.

I thought that was an European production that lasted two seasons and is head and shoulders better than the Showtime version.

Watch the Tudors and the non Showtime Borgias

Both are good. Borgias is only 3 seasons and Tudors is like 5 or 6. I would watch both, but if I had to choose I would start with Borgias.

The first 2 seasons of the Showtime Borgias series is just fantastic TV. It's beautifully done. The costumes and sets are just amazing and the acting is spectacular. Season 2 is some of the best TV I've ever seen.

Unfortunately, there's a noticeable dropoff in the quality of the story in season 3 and then it got abruptly cancelled at the end so it never had a chance to regroup and progress to a proper ending. I wish it would have because I think their were some real quality story arcs that never got a chance to materialize.

That said, season 3 wasn't awful, just not that great. It could've bounced back. Wish it's been given at least one more season to try but I'm sure the budget was astronomical. It's definitely worth a watch because, like I said, the first 2 seasons are just brilliant.

I have not seen Tudors yet. It's been in my queue for over 3 years. Just haven't gotten around to watching it yet. Life is cruel that way sometimes...
