Words vary in meaning based on the context in which they are used. There is nothing wrong with the word "token" per se, but Rex used it to disparage Dr. Carson in a manner directly correlated with his race.

It's a funny thing... I can't count the number of times people like me have been accused of voting for Barack Obama only because he's black and that we're acting out of white guilt. But when the tables get turned those accusers go running to board admins here for permabans.
