It´s not a Ballack thing. Ruud can´t stand him either.

The way Van Gol looks at him every time he speaks is absolutely hilarious.

Lalas is very cognizant of who he is, and if he´s not, the ESPN host just reminded him.

Even his red suede shoes have a twitter account.

Yeah, Lalas tells it like it is. I really don't mind him as much as other people do. That said, Twellman still gets on my nerves.

He´s taken to what he now feels is his schtick. His schtick is not such, but him, approved by ESPN, and mandated to go forward.

cwill, you´ve been in Europe at times for what I see as more than a very brief spell, you know perfectly well that someone who acts as he does is very, very surprising.

No, there´s still the matter of Australia, then they´ll be wiping their tears on three consecutive major trophies.

ETA May I add, something NO national selection has ever done, except for Spain.

Respect, man. Respect. I get the hate. You´re American, probably 20ish, and have little knowledge of the sport.

While the run was incredible, it was always destined to come to an end. The law of life. You´re probably a diehard LSU fan, and fancy LSU as a dynasty in American football, therefore, I don´t get the hate (unless, uninformed, as I said).

Being in your 20s doesn't matter because that was the first time in history Spain did anything.

When I watched them today Alexi and Ballack looked like they were in a staring death match.

Ballack made some comment about Germany and Tirico asked Alexi what his thoughts were.

Alexi visibly gulped and shifted in his seat and after a pause said, "I actually agree with everything he just said".

It was as if it physically pained him and he was hoping for one thing he could jump on to disagree with Ballack about.

I actually don't mind him as much as most of the board but he and Ballack seem to really dislike each other and it's really obvious.

I do dig those red suede driving shoes however.

That said, adding the MiB to the show is the best thing ever. I love them so much.

I'm pretty sure Ballack told Lalas you give me too much shite live on TV a couple of days ago.

I like Alexi as well. He is very knowledgeable about US soccer, which is my biggest interest in the sport. Yeah, he is a dick and his soccer resume is only a footnote compared to the other guys, but I do not give a shite about that. Often times, the best to understand, explain, and coach the game to others are the ones who were merely average (in a professional sense) when they played the game.

Lalas will never have Ballack's gifts on the pitch, but that does not mean he cannot be knowledgeable about the sport and US soccer. thenry really illuminated it the other day with a terrific post. He is kind of like Sheep, who is my favorite poster on this board.

I think the hate for Twellman is overdone as well. He is not some idiot everyone makes him out to be.

It´s not his soccer resumé, it´s how he goes about it. It´s great schtick, but, only logical that Ballack and Van Gol are taken aback.

Fair enough. He is a dick. I can see why they would not take a liking to him.
