New NBA rule will require all teams to move the NBA logo from the shoulder to the back starting next season.

Have seen a lot of people on twitter this evening saying that they are clearing the way for ads on the front.

When you have a sponsor on your jersey (especially front & center), you immediately de-legitimize and devalue your entire team/league/brand.

Hmmm...would a company have the choice of player to advertise on?

Maybe a wheelchair company can advertise on Paul Pierce. Cupid's can ad on Lance Stevenson. And maybe Summer's Eve on Lebron.

Only an anticapitalist would say this.

BTW, doesn't Arkansas have a swoosh on its jersey?

Because, Real Madrid, Manchester United etc. are really doing quite poorly with their billion dollar club valuation.

A few years ago I read an article saying it wasn't a matter of if, but when. With that said,

When the NBA starts putting ads on there jerseys is when I stop watching the NBA.

big difference... there are timeouts and commercial breaks during NBA/NFL/MLB games... unlike soccer

it actually kinda makes sense to have those sponsorships on unis/pitch in soccer
