Love Horace Silver.

Song for My Father is considered his Magnum Opus (Penguin Guide to Jazz),but I don't like it all that much.

'The Jody Grind' is my favorite Silver album by far & one of favorites in my entire Jazz collection. Woody Shaw is one of my favorite trumpeters & really steps up on this album.

Anyone interested in Hard Bop or Silver can't miss with Jody Grind album.

Senor Blues(on Six Pieces of Silver) is one of my favorite bop tunes by Silver.

Great talent.

Listening to a lot of Horace tonight. Like John Coltrane with a B-12 shot.
