I really don't think we will be able to get a outfielder thanks to all of our contracts. But I think if we somehow could get a fast outfielder who puts the ball in play and a few bullpen arms we might be ok. What does everyone else think?

DFA Avilan, Uggla and Schafer. Trade for a left handed reliever. Replace Harang with Wood.

Don't really see anything else they can do.

Cunningham, Bethancourt and Gosselin should improve the bench.

Carpenter sucks.. still have the best closer in baseball.. but this may be true.

Not really.. look at the hitting as recent as this month..

That's 5th in the entire MLB in hits for the month of June. (4th in the NL)

NL ranks in June:
7th in batting average (which is right at the middle)
2nd in homers
9th in rbis (middle of the pack, need to improve)
3rd in K's (ouch)

I agree the lineup is bad and the bullpen isn't up to Braves standards.. but I still wouldn't just count out winning the East like you guys are..

You are all depressed because the lowly Phillies just ate our lunch. Howard typically owns us.. they always play us tough.. But we still own the Nationals, Strasburg and company, and this will be huge going into the second half.

Kimbrel was/is the best closer in MLB?

Can't believe for all the talk about the Braves scouting department you let a guy like Greg Holland in your own backyard get picked by the Royals in the 12th round, and he goes on to become the best closer in MLB

Well that may very well be a great point.. but at least Kimbrel is 2 years younger and because of him may be why they went elsewhere.. But wow 12 rounds.. Wasn't Holland trying to be an infielder though? I really don't know anything about him or his drafting.

More saves last year and more saves this year for a team with fewer wins. If you're trying to put the blame on kimbrel for sub par offensive output, I'm not putting any stock in your opinion. We have BAD contracts but kimbrel isn't one of them. We didn't need to draft a closer when we already had one.
