allowing Miami to sign Lowry and Melo?

This assuming Bosh & Wade were to opt out as well. I could definitely see Bosh taking less money to stay.

quote:

When asked if he'd be willing to take a pay cut to keep the Big Three together—or even to add another high-profile member to the mix—Bosh simply replied, "If that's what it takes."

Wade, not so much. Let him walk and sign Stephenson for less.

quote:

We all think I worked very hard over my career to earn what I've earned and put myself in that position. So I will never feel like I have to take less after this, or have to do this. It's not my job. It's the job of others around to figure out how to make it work.

I have a feeling LeBron haters would just say he's forming another super team.

Wade is stealing money no way he does opt out

The Players Association wouldn't like it, but it's the man's money, he can do what he wants.

Bah, they signed him to the contract, he's not stealing shite. He took a paycut at the beginning, I have no issue with him not opting out.

He would still be considered a bitch for wanting to surround himself with an All-Star cast of free agents and not win as a team like Popp does.

He will never be considered in the same category as Jordan after these finals. If he wants to form an All-Star cast and win the next 6 finals in a row, he will still have 2 finals losses on his resume and everyone will know how he had to accomplish it.

Players association, commissioner's office, and every other NBA team would throw a shite fit.

Would melo, dwade, and bosh be enough or would he still be doing it on his own.

If respect him if he took less (he shouldn't) but not if it were to make room for yet another superstar

I hate the human race. Lebron was clearly the best player in the finals, averaging 28 points, 8 rebounds, and 57% shooting and his team got freaking crushed. It is clear the team sucked and Lebron was awesome. So if he stayed and the team did nothing he would be an absolute moron

Dude seriously can't win. I'm not defending him but damn if he takes a 3/4 pay cut to win, he will still be lambasted.

Melo does nothing to improve this team's chances of winning a title. He takes someone else's points and adds nothing.

Why? It is clear even with him having an unreal finals, his team wasnt even close to good enough. So should he just sit around and take it?

it would be hilarious if lebron was judged negatively for taking less to improve his team when jordan was making more than 6x that much (in the late 90s no less) on the bulls in the 2nd run

Why is it every year it's the same well Lebron needs more and more help? I thought he was supposed to be the GOAT who made players around him better.

i agree. this has to be a media-driven story/rumor not based in reality

I don't blame him for not opting out,I wouldn't either, but I doubt they signed him with the understanding he'd play when he wants during the regular season and be in pretty poor shape come playoff time.

He is the best player of his generation and just came off having an unbeleivable performance in the NBA finals, where it was clear he was the best player. However, it was also clear his team was no match for the Spurs at all. I have no idea how anyone can't see this. I dont get into GOAT talk until players are done with their careers
