I always root for our CONCACAF brothers, the sronger CONCACAF the better the USA will become.
If Nigeria and Croatia draws then Croatia would have to win by 3 goals.
If Nigeria wins the Mexico probably is through, there is no way Brazil doesn't stomp Nigeria who would be on 3 points.

If Croatia and their opponent Cameroon draw then then Croatia would have to beat Mexico by 3 goals since they would be on one point and minus 3 in goal differential.
If Cameroon beat Croatia, they will be on 3 points and Croatia would be eliminated.
I know I stated Nigeria, but it had to be evident I was talking about Group A.

True. This is actually significant. If CONCACAF teams do well, we get a better chance to qualify for future WCs. If another team in your CFB conference wins, you don't get anything of real value.

I found this article fairly interesting.
Granted those numbers are skewed by Mexico regularly making it to the knockout round, but Asia and Africa have featured the same country on multiple occasions with less success.
