Hello faithful OT,

I'm getting married soon. Inb4dontdoit. Date is in January.

My friend was telling me to go to St. Lucia and it would be about $5500 for what he did. I have the money to do it. Inb4lying. I just want to know if it's possible to go to a beach in another country (safe area of course) for 2k or less.

$2,000 isn't a magic number; just looking for a cheaper honeymoon. There's gotta be something out there!
Thanks guys.

how old are you?

should you be getting married if you are this financially unstable?

Gulf Shores, AL

in all seriousness, you could pull that off in mexico for 4-5 nights, but it wont be any kind of all inclusive resort or anything.

probably going to have to do one of those all inclusives in Mexico or something...

or you could go to VRBO and find a house in Costa Rica or something

...why does it have to be a beach?

If you're a Costco member you can book vacations through them and save a lot of money; airfare and transpiration to and from the airport are usually included within the price.

You can do it for $2k not including airfare, but this is your honeymoon. It's the best excuse you'll have to dump money into a vacation for a while. If you have the money, do it right.

first, prepare your anus

then, check out some all-inclusives in Jamaica and Mexico... Mexico will probably be your best bet

Grand Isle.....

but seriously you could spend that much, it all depends on how extravagant you want. If you want ocean front hotel room, youre going to pay $$$$$. Same beach but a hotel across the street without a view will be a lot cheaper.

I went to Dominican for about $3500 for the wife and I. We got a reduced rate because we had 2 other couples, tho. This was all inclusive.

I honestly don't think you can find a decent all inclusive with a flight for less than that for a couple.

I'd rather go all out on my honeymoon. Spend the extra cash.

Seems like the opposite of educated. He didn't imply anywhere that the cost was an issue. Is looking to not overpay a sign of financial instability now?

For just under 3K (including flights), the Royal Hideaway in Playacar Mexico.

My wife and I went for 5 days/4 nights. All inclusive....like everything.

5 star dining, wine liquor, everything included.

It was awesome....I couldn't help but think of a Mexican version of Destin.

We will go back again some day.

when I was planning our Costa Rica vacation (which got canceled b/c my wife got pregnant), I found a badass beach house with a private beach right next to a nature preserve

we were going to stay for 10 days and the entire vacation was going to be about $2500

you could do that if you are more adventurous type of couple
