LINK

Said they took the e-tech and basically rebuilt from the floor up. First time they have completely redone a motor in 34 years.

If its anything like the late model e-tecs it should be pretty nice.

All our boats had 2005+ e-tecs and I much rather them than mercs and hondas we replaced.

I say all that but that motor looks a little too futuristic, looks like a transformer. I liked the look of the late model etecs.

Wake me up when it's a 4 stroke.

Why 4 stroke?

E-tec's whole thing is that they can make a 2stroke thats better than a 4stroke. I dont care or know if they actually did it, but the whole point of the motor is that its the 2stroke making a comeback.

Like anything, you're only as strong as your weakest link! Till they fix their lower units, they're crap! On their higher hp models anyway, not sure about the mid-range models.

I have a 2007 75hp Etec. It has never given me a single issue. Combine that with not having to service it but every three years. I love mine.
