Rifle on Lone Survivor

What is the small binocular looking thing on the right side of the rail, near the barrel. Some kind of range finder or compensator? I've read the specs of that rifle build, and still not sure. Not all of them had it, but Walburg's character did for sure.

If you're talking about the piece they have on all their rifles it is an IR laser. It can be used during the day or night to designate a target for either the shooter a different soldier using IR lenses. It makes it invisible to enemies and can be advantageous.
But it would only add weight and bulkiness to a civilian rifle. Only my opinion though...

That's exactly what i'm talking about. Thanks for coming through in such a hurry B.
Also, what do you think of the gun I posted a few posts back? Would you get the spikes? It's a 6-10 month wait to be built, then another 9 months for the second form.

PEQ-15, has a IR illuminator and laser designator. Used with night vision.
When you use lasers or IR illuminated NV don't forget that anyone else with NV can see you.
If the wait time is so long for those rifles perhaps you should build it yourself.

I've been out of town for a week so you'll have to post it again. I haven't been able to check new posts as much as I would've liked.
