i just started doing smoothie shakes for health reasons and i realize i really like it. tastes great makes me feel good. pretty cheap. i've been doing a blend of frozen banana, fresh strawberry and frozen blue berry with milk. sometimes use kale. pretty pleased with that. but i want to branch out. anyone got some good recipes?

currently using a bullet blender, but its not mine, so will prob get a $15 knock off on amazon.

1/2 frozen banana, 4 strawberries, 1/4 cup frozen raspberries, 1/4 cup fresh blueberries, 1 cup milk, tbsp ground flax, 4 ice cubes

can do it with yogurt as well. just recently started throwing in the flax seeds. i also add 1 1/2 scoops of protein powder most of the time.

My go to quick breakfast is a chocolate smoothie:

1 banana
1 scoop chocolate or vanilla whey protein
1-2 cup skim milk or almond milk
1 spoon of peanut butter or peanut butter powder
1 serving of Greek yogurt
1 scoop of cocoa powder for flavor
A couple drops of vanilla
8-10 ice cubes

3 scoops of blue bell vanilla.
2 tablespoons of hershey instant chocolate powder,
fill up rest of stadium glass or mason jar with whole milk.
dump it all in blender, blend, then dump it back in glass.

no weeds, no grass, flax, no way.

I like kale, cucumbers, ginger, strawberry, and ice.

If you live in Baton Rouge, go to the produce stand right by Rotolos on Perkins.

I love this recipe from Giada:

quote:

Ingredients

1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1/2 cup ice
1 frozen banana
1/4 cup walnuts
2-4 dates, depending on desired sweetness
2 tablespoons flax seed meal

Instructions

Place all the ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth and creamy. Enjoy!
