I have found myself kind of obsessed with watching and playing as much as possible recently (took it up about 4 yrs ago). What fascinates me is in general its a simple game but it requires a high level of skill and touch. Who's playing this wknd?

I suck so much arse in golf, but it's that one shot that will make you keep coming back

whether it be a 25 foot put or sticking one within 3 feet 150 out

Headed out in a few minutes to the course.

I love playing because I try and ignore everything else going on and concentrate on my game.

My favorite sport is football but my playing days are gone forever. I can hit a golf shot as good as a pro on some rare occasions. The thrill of this keeps me coming back.

Taking my son to play for his first time tomorrow. Should be a great Fathers Day.

It's the games within the game.

Driving is like baseball hitting a home run.
Stick a shot in the leather from 150 is darts.
Short game and putting, bunker play all give you a chance to do something well.

Golf sucks.

There's less action than in soccer. Much less. Plus you can't cheer for anyone or you get thrown off the course. Not to mention that you get in trouble if you get drunk and cheer on camera.

The only possible redeeming feature is that it's okay to wash your balls during what little slow-motion play exists. Other than that, golf sucks arse.

Trying to get my dad to play with me tomorrow afternoon

He's 66 and I have no doubt he can shoot a lower score than I can

I play 2-3 times week.
We have good group at our club and money competition is always good.

I enjoy practicing plus I learned golf course maintenance before I learned to play ... Mowing greens fairways ect.

Will never forget playing with my dad a couple months ago.

It was a scramble and par was the worst score you could have (to speed up the play of the game)

It was our last hole on a par 3 and I was the only one to hit the green in our group. We were 9 under throughout the round

The putt was brutal right to left downhill from about 30 feet with a severe downhill slope. I said let's just pick up and go back to the clubhouse because we were probably the last group on the course.

My dad says "No, make the putt and let's finish at 10 under"

I step up and tap it (what I thought was way too high) my brother, BIL and gf were already walking back to the cart. It slowly broke and fell in the cup and my and my dad had a high five and hug that I will never EVER forget

Sap story but I don't know how much time I will have left with my father and it meant a lot to me.

I love it for several reasons, but mainly because it was the only thing that I could do that my Dad did.

My Dad had a little issue with breaking clubs, throwing them in lakes, etc.

After he passed away I was looking around in the storage room and found 25 Ping Putters. All bent.

It's some of this along with being able to check out from reality for 3-4 hours and only focus on the game. And usually the cart girls are fun to flirt with.

The more I play the worse I get (need lessons and clubs, Katrina), but I love watching the sport.

It's relaxing and it resembles boxing but without the contact. One against one, with the challenge of the course thrown in for more entertainment.
