In your opinion, fellow MRers. They need to be in succession, obviously...

There are a lot of good answers for this question obviously, but my obvious winner:

Beatles:

Rubber Soul
Revolver
Sgt Peppers
Magical Mystery Tour
White Album

and some other candidates...

Pink Floyd:

Meddle
DSOTM
Wish...
Animals
The Wall

Elton:

self-title
Tumbleweed Connection
Madman Across the Water
Honky Chateau
Don't Shoot Me...
(shite I could keep going to like 7 in a row. Elton rules.)

Led Zep: (not the biggest LZ fan, but this one is pretty impressive)

Led Zeppelin
Led Zeppelin II
Led Zeppelin III
Led Zeppelin IV
Houses of the Holy

thoughts? what is your favorite 5 album run?

Damn, man. Don't you know that the Beatles suck? I read it in that other thread.

Neil Young:

Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere
After the Gold Rush
Harvest
Tonight's the Night
On the Beach

(I realize Time Fades Away came after Harvest but that hasn't been reissued so it is not listed)

And just to put this on here for the Stones vs Beatles people...

Stones:

Their Satanic Majesties Request
Beggars Banquet
Let It Bleed
Sticky Fingers
Exile on Main Street

Pretty fricking good, except Satanic Majesties is crap. You could take that one out and put Goats Head Soup at the bottom maybe...either way not as good as the Beatles.

If we are taking 5-run
quote:

Led Zeppelin
Led Zeppelin II
Led Zeppelin III
Led Zeppelin IV
Houses of the Holy
But the best 3 album run was Let it Bleed, Sticky Fingers, and Exile on Main St.

I'd put Goat Head's Soup in there just because of Mick Taylor's presence. Satanic does have some gems on it like She's A Rainbow, 2000 Man, and especially 2000 Light Years from Home. I wish the Stones did more stuff like the latter.
