Piss off

British comedian and actor Rik Mayall has died aged 56, according to his management team.

He played the obnoxious, poetry-writing anarchist Rick in The Young Ones alongside his friend Adrian Edmondson before the duo later went on to star in their sitcom Bottom.

One of Britain's best.

RIP Rik.

If you liked The Young Ones, Rik and Adrian (Rick and Vivian from TYO) did a show later called "Bottom" about 2 thirtysomething unemployed on-the-dole virgin losers who share a flat in London and it is even funnier than TYO.

Crappy news to hear. I bet I've watched every episode of that show a dozen times or more.

In Drop Dead Fred he gave possibly the most unbearably painful, unfunniest performance I've ever seen in my life. I wanted to watch that movie for Phoebe Cates, but he made it impossible.
