anyone done this? i want to in the fall.
this guy has a pretty good trip log
LINK
i am considering taking the ferry to west ship island, with a packraft in my gear, and then head to east ship island. then to horn, petit bois and dauphin. (will have left a car there).
i wonder if the ferry people will do this (i.e., one-way trip)--i'll call and ask.
the paddle from west to east ship island is nothing, but from there to horn is 6 miles and maybe a little sketchy in a packraft.
we may just use sea kayaks and go from pascagoula to horn (with a break at round island) and stay there for several days. then see if we're comfortable island hopping, depending on weather.
Here's a decent guide: LINK

I would go sea kayak across Camille Cut, but not packraft, unless you have an EPIRB. That cut is nasty in nice weather.

Sound advice (pardon the pun). Thx.
i know people do open ocean in the bigger Alpackas, but yeah, i think that might be miz for that 6 miles cross (to horn).
eta: if i do sea kayak, i'm not even bothering with ship islands.
