It seems like an awfully big presumption some folks are making.

Did he change into civilian clothes? Did he buy a ticket to another country? What is the evidence he intended to remain away permanently?

Any?

He served with honor and distinction.

Do you have any evidence he actually left his post? Stop relying on rumors and 2nd/3rd hand accounts.

5 years in Taliban custody. He clearly wasn't at his post.

Very presumptive based on a few videos from the Taliban. Let's wait till a trial before we go down any fantasies you are proposing.

I'd say his service was certainly distinct.

He deserted, why does it matter what his long term plans were.

Because the left talking points are trying to push the story of a mislead and naive child who wanted to help the people of Afghanistan. Tuba has received his marching orders and is trying to advance the narrative.

Absolutely.

Is there evidence to the contrary?
Perhaps.

The balance of the two, along with appropriate redress, will be decided at court-martial.

I think it's pretty clear this guy is a deserter, but they are gonna have to prove to me that he is a traitor.

I think there has to be more to this story. As much as I disapprove of the current administration....there just has to be more to this story.

Spidey- do you support the trade that was made? If so why? If no why not?

Do you think there is more to the story? Theories?

Eta. The above questions are for any dems. I really am interested in the theories and current positions.
