listened to it for the first time in a while today. that album is perfection.....I really have nothing else to say. just starting this thread because damn that album is amazing and if for whatever reason you haven't listened to it yet, do it now. two dope boyz in a Cadillac, ATLiens, and then wheelz of steel is probably the best start to a hip hop album

Great album. Definitely an all-timer. But Aquemini is their best

Agree to disagree. ATLiens is solid the whole way through. Both fantastic albums, though.

It's almost infuriating how little credit Outkast gets for being pioneers in hip hop. 3 stacks was definitely on the same level as Pac and Biggie when they were alive

Yeah it's almost like a sub-genre of rap at that time. It wasn't hard core gangsta rap.

Aquemini is one of my top 3 rap albums ever.

I don't ever listen to ATLiens. It's nowhere near Aquemini in my opinion.

And just as influential to, what now is, one of the biggest sun-genre's in "southern hip hop"

Just my uneducated opinion

Also, never listening to ATLiens because Aquemeni is that much better makes no sense, they're both incredible albums

I respectfully disagree. ATLiens is a concept album that actually worked, and worked perfectly. To me, it's just absolute perfection. Not only Outkast's best album, but quite possibly my favorite album of all time.

Weird thing is, I didn't hear it until 2000. Aquemini was the first Outkast album I ever listened to, and I liked it so much that I went back and listened to the first two. ATLiens just blew my mind; I had it looping in my car for three months.

Suffered from low production quality. And it didn't help that Goodie Mob put out a better album around the same time. Dirty South really put them on the map but ATLiens was something different. It was probably... no shite... one of the finest records ever made. Aquemini is brilliant, just a little less accessible.
