Do college baseball fans think of LSU now, like LSUfans thought of USC in the90s?

Remember in the 90s when people around the country would say that USC is the greatest college baseball program of all time and LSU fans were always quick to bring up how most of their success was a long time ago? The time difference between USC's dominance in the 70s to the 90s is not much different than the time difference between LSU's dominance in the 90s to now. Sure LSU fans brag about national titles, but do other fans around the country actually care since they were so long ago? Has LSU baseball now become 1990s USC baseball in terms of national respect?

We won the National Championship 5 years ago. We went to Omaha 1 year ago.
What a stupid arse thread.

USC won one in 98.
That's what he's comparing our 2009 title to.

3 national seeds in a row... we're still elite and still a threat

usc would go to omaha in the 90s. even won one in 1998, yet it was not that big of a deal. they were just a once dominant program who had a great year and won a title.
can always count on lsu baseball fans to get all bent out of shape without really thinking about the topic.

So... What exactly are you asking? Does LSU now = USC in 1998?
What a dumb thread.

LSU was 6 outs away from playing this weekend.
I wouldn't write the program off.

I'm not bent out of shape.
You made a thread about a dumbass topic.
We won a National Championship in 2000 and 2009. Other years since 2000 that we went to Omaha include 2003, 2004, 2008 and 2013.
We aren't going to win the National Championship 4 times every decade.

I find that a lot of LSU fans in Louisiana have a very warped perception of what/how the rest of the country thinks of LSU.

I would think most knowledgeable college baseball fans think of the following programs immediately:
(Geographically from West to East):
Cal Fullerton
Oregon State
Arizona State
Oklahoma State
Texas
Rice
LSU
Miss.State
Vandy
Florida State
Miami
South Carolina
Virginia
With the following right behind:
USC
UCLA
Oregon
Long Beach State
Fresno St.
Arizona
Oklahoma
Baylor
Nebraska
Wichita State
Indiana
Arkansas
Tulane
ULL
Ole Miss
Ga.Tech
North Carolina
Florida
Clemson
Charleston
Kennesaw St
With rising Washington, Texas A&M, Houston, Louisville, Bama, Ga.Southern, Maryland, Kentucky

Maryland,
OP, you can't make an exact comparison.
Maybe USC baseball from 78 to late 1990s is similar to UCLA basketball post Wooden until the mid 90s. USC has pretty well dropped off.
One team is very dominant/untouchable for basically decade and then is not so great anymore.
It's retarded, and I don't just throw that word around lightly, to suggest LSU is effectively irrelevant.
