Obvious a little hyperbole at work, but good read. This kid is a great get.

quote:

“I don’t think this was recruiting talk because coach Cameron isn’t like that,” said Wakulla offensive line coach/recruiting coordinator James Vernon. “But he said he recruited a guy named Peyton Manning, and at this point in his high school career Feleipe is farther along than Peyton was in all categories. He said he can throw the ball farther and is just such a great athlete.”

Probably true, but what makes Manning good isn't as much the physical skills, as it is what's between his ears....Time will tell, but you have to like the raw talent, here....

Read this earlier - good read. LSU Recruiting is definitely stepping up the game all around.

Sounds like a great kid. Can't wait to see him lead the Tigers.

this. Manning is good because he's an on field coach. That's why he's one of the best.

Also, great article. Makes you feel really good about franks.

Damn man.
Harris/Jennings, Franks and then Dunkelman. We'll be fixed for QB for while.
LSU will always get good skill players, so the key will be, can we recruit great O-linemen for the next few years?
And as long as Chavis is here, the D will be ferocious as well....

Take that, alafrickingshama....

Lol. I was going to say it's one of the stupidest.....Mannings physical skills are tremendous. Just because he isn't a runner, doesn't in any way make him less gifted. Quick release, accuracy, strong arm, vision, height, etc. His study of the game/film make him a HOF'er

yeah, Manning isn't some elite physical talent. Good arm, great height, not a runner, throws an ugly, albeit accurate, ball.

He is just brilliant in terms of football.

There are dozens of QBs with those abilities. Its how he uses them that makes him special.

Maybe now in his career. His arm strength was elite when he turned pro. Accuracy too.

Having an ex professional head coach and coordinator has its perks for more than just recruiting. Look how our offence lit up last year when we didnt have an oline coach making gameplans coach can is taking in a direction we have not been in a wile on offence.

Why people compare high schoolers to guys like Peyton Manning is beyond me.

He compared him to Peyton Manning when he was the same age as Feliepe not now. He compared them according the same age. Just like the Fournette and Peterson comparisons.

Looks like there will be some major work needed.

Cam's gonna have to totally re-work that "forced-fumble-waiting-to-happen" looping-down-windup throwing motion.

He does that because of his body type. Once he gets into a college S&C program, he will be fine.

hyperbole

Happens all the time.

Remember when Jimmy Clausen was still a sophomore in high school? Espn ( aka the four letter network) did a hype video stating that his accuracy and arm strength were unparalleled by 95% of college qbs at that time.

He was already a presumed number one draft pick and would be a superstar in the nfl.

I understand that he is comparing franks to a high school manning, but he's not even to his senior year.

We all want LSU to finally have that dominating qb that wins us two in a row. But let the hype machine roll on while we stay grounded...... Or next thing you know, posters on td will come up with names for franks like the did for Mettsiah.

Too many things Need to happen for an Allstar qb to hit stride. Hype needs to go but fans should chill when reading articles like that. The author needed some run.
