That's the White House excuse forgoing around congress. They are caught in a huge lie, and they are trying to cover it up, cause there are reports that came out today that the terrorist didn't want a swap, they wanted money. Seems like the White House wanted the swap...

The picture in the link says he was wiping a tear away. Last I checked tears fall down and are not in his eyebrows. This whole thing stinks to high heaven. So in the short term we get back 1 US deserter, and give up 5 Taliban and like 6 officers that were killed looking for him.

We will kill this dude if word gets out about swap.

"There will be no SWAP. We don't negotiate with a terror group. Taliban is NOT a recognized State power...therefore, you are holding a HOSTAGE (at best) and not a POW. So, GFY"

Easy-Peasy to avoid this lunacy

Even if true, too little too late. Whatever damage control they're trying to effect looks as amateurish as the original rollout.

Has an administration ever just stood up and said "Yeah, we fricked the pooch on this one?" I'm asking you old timers.

Reagan apologized

for FDR

quote:

In 1988, President Reagan signed the Civil Liberties Act to compensate more than 100,000 people of Japanese descent who were incarcerated in internment camps during World War II. The legislation offered a formal apology and paid out $20,000 in compensation to each surviving victim. The law won congressional approval only after a decade-long campaign by the Japanese-American community.

Has Obama done anything remotely resembling an apology, or taken responsibility for anything?
