it's difficult on this site
is there a way to go to the 1st unread post in a topic once you have read and/or posted in the topic?
is there a way to see upvotes and/or downvotes on a post without searching for that post in a topic?

Kind of, sort of, not really.
When you "post reply" to someone, you can jump to your post immediately after pushing submit. From your post, you can click on the name in the top line (where it says "posted on 6/3/14 at 11:27 pm to X poster"--you would click X poster) and it will jump you back to that post in the thread.

You can bookmark a post using the yellow star on the top line of a post. Again, not quite the same thing you're looking for, but might be useful sometimes.

Just open up 30 or 40 different tabs on your browser with where you leave off on individual threads.
