Marco McMillian - Harvey Milk...What is the difference in legacy

Marco McMillian was never actually elected like Harvey Milk was because he was murdered before he had a chance. It seems McMillian has gotten very little press for an openly gay black mayor candidate that was burned, beaten and murdered.

Harvey Milk has all kind of stuff named after him and annual meetings in his honor and such.

I've google this and there is really not much, just some articles that state no hate crime was found.

The difference is that one was a political assassination and the other would appear to be a bad choice of sex partners.

When the police don't release details it often means they're protecting the victim's reputation.
