Well at least they cleaned up the blood and removed the dog from the house.

Maybe they donated the corpse to a family of hungry Koreans. I can't understand why the postman can keep dogs at bay with a can of mace, but cops have to shoot them. Things that make you say "hmmm..."

Too bad they won't be terminated. Shooting a dog protecting its domain, particularly inside, is inexcusable.

Lane added that the dog’s blood was cleaned up off the floor, but that bullet holes remain in the wall and the futon Bullet slept on.

Hmmm.

The door blew open and the dog remained inside? The dog seemed better trained than the human police officers.

"Two officers arrived to Lane’s home Friday, entering the house and shouting verbal warnings. Round Rock authorities say when they came upon the 120-pound Rottweiler named Bullet, the dog became aggressive toward them and made threatening actions"

I can only conclude that you have to fail an IQ test to be a cop. A person with half a brain would think to himself, "No burglar is in here with this dog. Why don't we just back on out, close the door, and get the homeowner back here and while we are waiting let's knock on a couple of neighbor's doors and ask if they have seen anything."

Because then they wouldn't have gotten to use their guns

Makes me wonder if the dog was asleep on the futon and the cops startled him they came in. ANY dog large or small will become aggressive when their space is invaded by strangers.

A few thoughts
1. sucks your dog died.
2. Police were responding to the alarm, as they should be.
3. They entered the home thinking it was a possible burglary so they more than likely had weapons not mace drawn
4. The dog was a Rottweiler, but the owners says isn't aggressive. Maybe it is maybe it isn't. maybe in general it is very kind when the owner is there. IDK,

All this being said, i am always feel like i would shoot a dog if really believed it is attacking me I am a human its a dog. If it is a Rottweiler then definitely. However the owner seems to think they just blasted the dog. It is hard to believe people would do this but i have seen reports where cops have done this.

I've seen TONS of reports of cops doing this, so its not hard to believe. Hell, theres a thread or more a week on here about it happening.

Rotts can be aggressive. But this one was old for the breed...something like 6 or 7 with hip dysplasia (common in old age). Large breeds like Rotts and Mastiffs have very short life spans. The dog was big, growled menancingly but probably didn't have the strength or energy to cause damage to an adult human.

Doesn't matter... Just like AR15s and ignorant people, the dog "Looked dangerous"
