Mario Kart 8 sold 1.2 million copies this weekend

Wii U sales in the UK are up 666% and were also way up in Japan outselling the PS4. I haven't seen anything about Wii U sales in the USA.
82% of the game sales numbers were people buying the MK8 Wii U bundle.
This with Super Smash Bros later in the year might have seriously saved the Wii U.

Watch Dogs was still the best selling game for the week but it had a huge head start since MK8 came out on Friday.

I am one of the people who bought the Bundle
Though I saw plenty of copies of the game itself still avaliable at Wal-Mart yesterday but the Bundle was sold out

I still can't imagine what the console market would have looked like with a Mario Kart as a launch title and Smash Bros a month later.
