I have a day off from work and its time for the second round of fertilizer for my yard. With all this rain we have gotten, the ground is soaked. We are expected to get more rain tonight (hence why I want to fertilize today).

If I put the fertilizer down, will it soak into the ground with the rain or be washed off the top and into the drainage ditches? The fertilizer is granular, for what its worth.

As saturated as the ground already is, I'd expect a lot of runoff. Radar shows plenty coming. If it were my yard, I'd wait

ETA: FWIW, most of the fertilizers I use call for .1-.5 inches of irrigation

I too was going to do a second round today but with this much rain I'm holding off till the ground dries up a little.

Just wait

No point in it all flushing out to the Mississippi River
