Droid Razr MAXX - bad signal and headphone jack not working

I just recently purchased another one of my favorite phones, the RAZR MAXX as my old one had a cracked screen...this thing is rooted and runnning Cyanogenmod...i love everything about it...except I never seem to have good signal...i can be right next to my wife...who has a Note2 and she will have strong 4glte and I have like no bars...I have messed with the network mode in settings, but can't seem to find the best one for my area...any advice?
also, my headphone jack is not registering when I insert the plug..i.e.....not switching to headset mode....i have seen this before with a similar phone and it was lint down in there...but not sure if this is the case...any help appreciated...

I have the same phone and this happens quite often. Just clean the lint out and if that doesn't get it, use a little contact cleaner (radio shack) on it.

Just be careful with it. I use mine on a qtip. Just spin the qtip around so it is really tight and won't leave lint before you put it in.

I had the same problem with mine. Contact cleaner didn't help so I just had to deal with it for a few months until my next upgrade.
