We all hear about how fat Americans are. Well, a new study has ranked European countries in terms of percentages of fat women. Want to take a guess before I post the link?

No fair looking it up on the net. We are on the honor system.

I'd bet the UK countries are pretty damn high. Very similar to the U.S. Next would be Scandinavian countries, then Germany, France, with Italy and eastern European countries probably the lowest.

Fattest? Italy or Greece?

I'd imagine Italian women are pretty large. Irish women thinner. Just a guess though.

I haven't seen a single fat person in Sweden.

Honestly, that surprises me, but I'm just making guesses based on a very limited amount of info.

How are we defining fat? Is it simply weight in pounds/kilograms? Or do they use a BMI measure?

If it's based simply on raw weight, I'm guessing the Scandinavian countries would rank highest (do to them being taller on average). If they are using some sort of body mass index, UK is probably my first guess; maybe Germany.

I'd definitely but UK first if I had to guess.

Yep, it's the UK

It's not surprising. Their cultural attributes (e.g., prevalence of feminism, fat acceptance, etc.) are very similar to the U.S.

I can't think of a more British sounding name than Louisa Peacock.

Benedict Cumberbatch, and it's not even close.

I'm surprised. I've never met a thin woman from Italy.

Yeah, I don't know about that. There was a bunch of blonde haired blue eyed hotties running around Norway when I was there last year.

You should re-read, that's not clear from your OP and would seem to be the reason everyone was guessing as to the "take a guess". I thought it may be a guess that Euros are fatter than Americans.

Everyone else who posted understood. Sorry if you feel bad about it. I shall say 5 Hail Mary's and 2 Our Fathers + and Act of Contrition as my penance.
