Wife and I are going to Playa Paraiso this weekend for seven days. It's located between Cancun and Playa del Carmen. Any must see attractions, excursions, and or restaurants/bars to hit?

Drive up to Puerto Morelos. Eat at John Gray's Kitchen, then walk over a few blocks and have some drinks on the square by the ocean.

This a guide to most everything.

If you don't already know, fake silver and stones are common even in what appear to be higher end stores, best advice is don't buy jewelry.

There is a big pyramid you can climb. I think it's Coba???

All day excursion but pretty incredible.

Captain Quickie

This is the best money you will ever spend. My family had the best time with these guys, beyond anything we expected. I have referred others since our trip and all say the same. I can't say enough good things about it.

It's been ten years but I went on a "Sail and Snorkel Tour" on the trimaran Fury that was just great.

Sailed for a while, snorkeled for a while, landed at some beach for some food and optional horseback riding, then all you could drink Mexican beer and margaritas on the sail back.

Fun crew and the boat was made in Harvey, La. All for $55 (ten years ago.)

Tulum is beautiful

Don't do a tour to Tulum....take a taxi/arrange your own ride there there so you have more time to do what you want there.

I just got back from playa a week ago. Beautiful weather the entire time. We went to xplore and did the zip lines. It was very fun and there are a couple of other things to do (ATV riding and paddle boating inside of a cave). Our resort got us a taxi but the drop off / pick up time was 830 am - 430. We started zip lining around 9 am and were finished with all activities & lunch at around 1-130ish. Just keep that in mind when you're planning your day. I hear tulum is great, we are planning to go there next time we go to playa. Have fun!
