The bottom line is that they don't want whitey to have good schools. Period. Whitey is the devil.

This effort to reform EBR schools came from business and civic leaders inside the parish.
So for those keeping score at home the status quo in EBR has effectively combatted attempts by SG to break out for several years now. And now they have effectively stopped reform from those wanting to keep the parish system and make it better.
People scoffed when I said powerful forces were allied to keep the status quo and once again we see proof of just that.
They say we are better together , but only if we do it their way .

IMO they could start by no longer forcing kids who drop out from or try dropping out to return.
You can't force them to accept it and get an education. The ones who drop out then are forced to return by law are ruining classrooms for all involved.

obviously this wont change the mind of BRAC, but i wonder if it changes the minds of other business entities in terms of having seen the status quo prevail over not only those calling for drastic reform measures, but conciliatory efforts of BRAF/local business leaders. it seems to prove the sentiment of some in st george that nothing short of a new school district will change anything.

That's my take, nothing that I've seen makes me think the people in charge want change .
The same crew that fought SG fought BRAC.
As long as this continues the private schools in EBR will thrive , the independent districts will grow, and our neighboring parishes will boom.

The principals killed it when 40 of them showed up at the committee meeting and told the legislators they weren't qualified to handle the duties the bill required of them.

Not by a long shot. MOLA annexation will be nullified, and st.George will be voted on in November. Not that the annexation killed the petition anyway.

I thought BRAC was putting the cart before the horse.
They need to hire principals that are qualified to run a school from A to Z first.
Btw, I find it ironic that Taylor says principals can't put together a budget but they can cut a specified percentage out if their budgets without his help.
But BRAC tried and that's more than Broome ,and her allies are doing.

On what basis will the Mall's annexation be nullified?

Lol, then they should be fired.

sure, if you can't do the task that the law requires...you should be replaced.
What is the impetus for your unending defense of the failing BR schools? Former teacher, administrator, what?

He's heavily monetarily invested in BR and will say whatever he needs to in order to protect those investments.
Either that, or he's just straight up retarded.

Weed out that bad ones, improve the good ones, and hire more good ones; then turn them loose with the backing if a local board and supt.
The way BRAC is doing this wouldn't work,

The principals knew they have not received training in many of the financial management duties which the bill required them to perform. But they probably know how to give CPR.

Lol, then hire people who are qualified.
Cpr is a weekend course...if that's their certification for their position they should be fired immediately.

They neglected to note that part of the property they annexed had been sold. Therefore, not all off the property owners signed off.
Additionally, they used KCS railroad property without permission. Don't piss off a railroad....

Not all property owners are required to "sign off." Where does the annexation ordinance say it requires 100% of the property owners to sign an annexation petition?
