I was listening to Nick Di Paolo's radio show and he referenced this. When I thought about it, almost all of my favorite comics are liberal despite me being conservative. Rock, Seinfeld, C.K., Artie Lange, Kimmel, Woody Allen, Larry David, etc. Is there a reason for this? Di Paolo and Dennis Miller are the only conservatives I could think of off my head that are funny. And to those of you who say Poli Board.

Because most of them have so much money that they don't live in the real world.

I don't think Ron White or Larry the Cable Guy are liberal.

I have not much read into Carlins personal history, but his act always came off as an equal hater of both parties. I'm not all that well-versed in his work though.

Maybe it is easier to sell material that way or more of their audience is liberal. Idk

Or comics just could be a left-leaning profession.

I said funny comics. Larry the Cable Guy is anything but. Di Paolo said that if conservative comics talked about being against gay rights or how biased the media is that they would get whisked right out of town.

It's the entertainment business in general...

Pretty much all the women, ugly people and nerds are left. Patton Oswald, all the skinny/wimpy comedians... It's a trend. The conservatives are pre established. Literally all new comedians are left. It'sholltwood pushing and promoting "their kind"... A lot of established comedians have writers. It's a liberal version of "the good ol boy" system.

Fwiw I like a lot of them and can put their political views aside and enjoy the humor in it. Despite me not agreeing with their views, I can laugh at it.

This + target audience.

When you're conservative you essentially target one group.

As a left you can target multiple groups. Hispanic/black/Indian, women, gays, nerd/geek, pothead, atheists, any religion not named Christianity, etc.

Adam isn't exactly killing it these days. And his old partner has pretty much abandoned his "man show" persona.

Chris Titus was well liked at one point but there's just not as much a conservative can make fun of without offending the people paying him.

Man, did you guys ever think it's kind of silly to lump people into just 1 of 2 groups? What is it about these people that prompt you to label them "liberal"?

Why is the definition of "conservative" so strict? If someone believes gay people should be allowed to get married, they can't be "conservative"? Or if they aren't Christian? Or if just 1 criteria falls outside of the "conservative" definition?

Did you ever think that maybe, just maybe, this extremely narrow definition is why "the media" appears to be biased to you?
