Shrimping Reports?

Anybody go out for the opening of shrimp season yesterday, or heard any reports of how they are catching so far?

Mom's friend runs two skimmer boats out of Grand Caillou and they aren't doing that well in that area. Catching a few but 50-60 count shrimp. The platform is paying $2.00 a pound for those so the jumbos are going to be sky high $$$ wise this year.

They are always small at the beginning, especially in the brown season. He'll, you can find some shrimp year round, just not what you may be looking for. I wouldn't be taking the day off work to throw a cast net off of a water control structure, not yet.

Skimmer. Not a big boat though. They filled 5 big ice chests on Monday.
