Techies, is it safe to discard my wireless printer?

Reset it to factory defaults and clear the memory. If it has a hard drive, remove it or format it.

What brand and model? I doubt anything more than resetting would be necessary.

Unless you have enemies who want to go through you printer, just trash it and quit worrying.
Someone who wants to discover something will find it. Driving 30 miles out of town and tossing it into a river somewhere basically eliminates your concerns.
