Possibly moving to Portland, OR. Advice?

I am one of the top candidates for a job in Camas, WA (right outside of Portland), and things are looking very good for me. I've done as much research as I can about the area, but I'd love some more opinions from people who've been there or lived there. Like what are the best (or soon to be best) neighborhoods, cost of living downtown, etc.
Yes, I know about the rain. And yes, I know about the eclectic mix of people. And Voodoo Donuts.

I'm not much of a traveler... but if I were to ever make my way to that part of the country... that would be a big reason why

If you will work in WA don't live in Oregon unless you will have something to write off.
As an Oregon resident working in WA you will pay income taxes as if you worked in Oregon.

Best strips clubs in that nation.
Liberal hacks that want to wipe their arse with a spotted owl than use toilet paper.
Beautiful scenery.
Technology hub of the NW.
Think Green all of the time.
Did I mention the strip clubs?

Solid advice. Plus living expenses have to be cheaper than the downtown area. It's only 20 minutes away anyways.

If I did live in Portland I would in NW or SE.
Vancouver has very nice neighborhoods. WA has no income tax, but they do have 9% sales tax. No tax on food and you can make big purchases in Oregon.

I've got my eldest brother out in PDX, I really enjoy spending time there, nice, clean city. I could do a few years up there but the weather would frick me and I will say the women leave a lot to be desired, especially juxtaposing them with southern women.
I'm from Iowa, some women are just more weathered, earthy, nothing wrong with it, if that's your vice.

Don't be dumb, live in WA. Cascade Park/Mill Plain area (East edge of Vancouver) is nice. Go in to PDX for nightlife. If you're young and looking for a more urban feel just live downtown Vancouver. Just across the river from Portland, probably half the price.
And if you go to Voodoo donut more than once you are wasting your time and money.

Yeah, never seen such a fuss about a donut shop, but I'm not much on sweets.
Most people I know who work in the Porland area live in Vancouver.

women aren't the reason I live here. Quality of life and what the NW has to offer me. I like earthy as opposed to high maintenance.

I could never do that commute unless I worked very early. The traffic over the bridge is ridiculous.

West Coast is a superior quality of life, unparalleled domestically.

I'm with you here. I hear this all the time about the "women" outside the South, and it's funny. There are good looking women anywhere. There are fewer high maintenance women in the West and NW. I can't stand a high maintenance princess.
There's not a more fit woman than a cross country skiier.
