Assange threatens to release redacted Snowden info
Glenn Greenwald
Assange names Afganistan as 5th country
quote:
The story released yesterday and written by Greenwald and two colleagues, alleges that the US is "secretly intercepting, recording, and archiving the audio of virtually every cell phone conversation on the island nation of the Bahamas." The story, published on First Look Media's Intercept channel, also says that the US is harvesting cellphone metadata from four other countries and names three of them - Mexico, The Philippines and Kenya.

The U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) has been recording and storing nearly all domestic and international phone calls from Afghanistan, according to Wikileaks’ front man Julian Assange.

MYSTIC is used to collect phonecall metadata and is used in Mexico, Kenya and the Philippines, according to The Intercept. SOMALGET enables the NSA to gather and store the contents of every conversation in an entire country, it said.
The program gives the NSA the capability to record and store the phone calls of an entire nation for up to 30 days, according to the Washington Post. The paper decided not to identify the countries affected on request of the U.S. government.

Really Josh, it would not surprise me at this point if the US was "harvesting" everything from every country. The complete power that has been gained through this and will ultimately be abused to no end causes me great concern. I worry for my son's future.

There will be a day when you go against the political party in power and emails and phone conversations will be put out there or used to blackmail you.
I think John Roberts was blackmailed this way for his vote on Obamacare.

Something happened with hit vote. All reports were that he was voting to striking it down then changed his vote at the late moment...

Right, since the Supreme Court has always been known for its leaks...
