Long story short, my boss stayed there and had 2 gold rings stolen.
The manager filed a "report" and said they have insurance for things like this.
3 weeks go by and we are calling pawnshops because one ring was distinctive. No luck...
Call the manager today to see what the status is, and they have done nothing. Didn't even turn it in to their insurance company. Then the manager gets bitchy asking how would they know he even lost the rings. (He has two witnesses, and people don't typically make up stolen ring stories and file fake police reports)
That leads me to believe they are either in on the scam, or this is happening often and they are trying to squash any publicity.
I figured the story was worth telling... anything similar happen to anyone else there like this?

Why did your boss leave the ring unattended in his room?

The night of graduation I went to the hilton downtown with a girl (her room not mine). Took the class ring off that I got that day and put it on the nightstand. Got wild then she got real bitchy after I started catching some zzzz's. I woke up grabbed my shite and left. Forgot the ring. Went back the next morning to get it and she swore she didn't have it but wouldn't let me look in her purse. Never got it back but bought a replacement so my mother wouldn't kill me.

For sure. My boss was getting mad at me because I was telling him everything he did wrong. First of all, don't leave gold rings in a hotel room. Secondly, don't file a police report over the phone. I would have demanded an officer shake down of the cleaning staff.
