Add him along with Martin Perez and Matt Harrison for guys who are out for the year, to go with long term disabled Derek Holland, Jurickson Profar, and Tanner Scheppers.

Curse of Nolan Ryan

Also ESPN Dallas reporting Profar is probably done for the year too now.

How'd he get hurt? Someone break his legs trying to find out where his dad is?

I supported Nolan over Daniels but I don't think you can blame this entirely on Daniels

Well he did accept Prince and his salary, no he couldn't foresee the injury but Prince wasn't all that good before going on DL

yes you can

his personality and the way he treats players is clearly an issue that is affecting the team.

guys like Young and Kinsler weren't shipped out due to performance or the absolute need to bring up Profar.

They were dumped b/c of personality conflicts w/Daniels.

Young was a 35 year old 2B/3B/SS coming off a .682 OPS season....

Good..I fricking hate Prince Fielder. All his fatasses can do is turn on a pitch every now and then.

yes he had a bad year

but the point is he was moved b/c he and JD did not get along.

Young was essentially the teams Jeter. (heart and soul)

even though his skills had diminished he was still too important in the locker room to dump. (ex Jason Kidd the year the Mavs won the title)

never mind that he was a useful player the next year.

Is it too late to jump on the Houston bandwagon?

Rangers All-DL team:

C-Soto
1B-Prince
2B-Murph
SS-Profar
3B-Kouz
RF-Adduci
CF-Beltre
LF- Robertson
Rotation: Holland, Harrison, Perez, Scheppers Saunders

I have no problem shipping off Young, who is now retired and can't play anymore, and Kinsler, who had one really good season in a Rangers uniform. He was also blocking their top two prospects, who are both middle infielders.

Getting rid of Hamilton, Wilson, Kinsler, and Young was absolutely the right thing to do. I think he missed the call on both Napoli and Cruz, who also both walked for nothing and didn't take too much cash to sign. But this is a team that's gone through a major rebuild and still contended the entire time.

That's what good GM's do.

He was on the downside of his career, not just a bad year

Well minus the fact he complained about switching positions aloud and about mentoring players who were younger (although Yankees never asked Jeter to move)

it wasn't so much that he was being moved from SS to 3rd or 3rd to DH, it was how he found out about it.

to put it simply, JD sucks arse at people relations.

pretty much everyone would be pissed if they found out their position was being changed w/o even being consulted about it.

on top of that, when you do shite like that all it does is foster and environment where the players flat out dont trust management.

thats terrible for team morale in both the short and long term.

This was going to be a transition year either way. I was wrong about Fielder and that contract is just as bad as the Angels contracts for Hamitlon and Pujols

He wouldn't have accepted a dimimished role and Washington wouldn't take him out of the line-up.
I loved Young for what he meant to the team, but it was time for him to play less or move a long, and he wouldn't have accepted a smaller role.
The Rangers are what they are because of J.D. not in spite of him.
