Anyone else doing any of the activities for the New Orleans Wine and Food Experience?
I'm doing the grand tasting on Saturday. I've done this event 6 times now and am always impressed. Have never tried any of the others though. I would love to do the Royal Street Stroll, but you never want to buy a ticket for $100 and find out the weather will be crap.

I did a wine dinner at Ruth's last night. Overpriced of course, but still good.
I love the grand tasting, but haven't done it in a while.

The wine dinners always look good, but they seem over priced most of the time like you said.
I've never done one, do they have a certain winery that serves only their line of varietals? If so do they have a wine rep their to explain what you are drinking?

Yes and yes.
I guess it really wasn't bad value overall considering that they gave us 2 or 3 pours of each wine that they were serving as we needed it.

I've been a few years in a row with the wife. We have a good time. We will be there Saturday again.

What are my chances of finding tickets outside the convention center Saturday for the Grand Tasting?

How many you looking for?
Posted on 5/22/14 at 5:38 pm to Geauxdaddy88
Two. My fiancee and I want to go with my brother and his wife. They've already bought their tickets.

I don't think it will be hard to find 2 outside the day of. Years past they sold them at the door but I'm not sure about this year.

I'm glad they have it but I don't give a rat's arse about busting my arse to attend any of it. Too many people, too hot, too . . . too . . . too...

the grand tasting inside the convention center was great the year i went. not overly packed, easy to get food and wine fast. went hungry, left stuffed and drunk.
