Anyone own an RV? I'm about to buy a travel or destination trailer.

Any advice or expertise would be appreciated.

Like what manufacturers or dealers to stay away from.

Aluminum or wood frame?

Best roof maintenance practices.

TIA

Look at ones that have a rubber roof. It's best to keep them out the weather when you can. Look at ones that have fiberglass siding too! Look at the total weight and what you plan on pulling it with.

RV's take a lot of maintance keeping them sealed due to movement.

Thanks. We have looked, and looked, and looked.

Frankly, it's going to be my home for the next few years. My job will be moving me around and my husband doesn't work so we just want to keep it simple and park it on a lake until the job moves me again and then it's on to the next lake.

So we won't be moving it around a lot. We just can't agree on what is best. I want some space (destination trailer, wood frame). He wants the aluminum because of weight and insulation.

And of course, there is a budget.

If you're willing to follow/live with him under those conditions he needs to let you have whatever you want.

And if he doesn't, tell him he'll have more "wood" than he knows.

In that case, look at park model built one. More open space for two people.

I work in Jackson now. But we've been to Berryland and Ken Mitchell in Hammond...and a few other places between there and Jackson.

yes, we only brought ours in one time for warranty work. the motor in the electric awning quit working. they even took care of a cracked table top that was completey our fault that i had expected to pay for, but covered it all at no charge.
