Can't believe they won the drew lottery. So many teams clamoring for him since he hit free agency half a year ago.

Oh lucky day.

True, but he had 50 extra-base hits last season in 124 games, with a higher slugging percentage than Pedroia, Ellsbury, Gomes, Middlebrooks and others. Hit .284 against RHP's, and .283 at Fenway. Hit .311 with two outs and runners in scoring position. .984 fielding was 2nd among AL shortstops.

I'm with you, most people only saw the postseason so they will shite on him... The real problem is with pitching and that starts with getting rid of salty.

Let's move X to 3rd, Drew to short and start praying to god that Papi will hit like 12 home runs a game

Is the $14mm figure confirmed? That's gotta be heavily incentive based. If not, that's a crazy number for Drew

yes, but pro-rated for his shortened season to somewhere around $10.2M.

"The immediate reaction to Drew's return in the Red Sox clubhouse was positive.

"I think Stephen helped us out a lot last year," David Ortiz said. "He's a great player, great teammate. Hopefully, he's bringing the same attitude that he had last year and helps us out to win some games."

maybe, but i doubt it. he'll get $10MM this year, then be a free agent without qualifying offer restrictions after the season. should get a better deal
