Any chance he keeps the closer gig when Grilli returns soon? Or is it a sure thing that Grilli will get his job back immediately?

I think it is Grilli's job to loose. Melancon back to setup IMO.

Hurdle stated a week or two ago that he doesn't like giving away another players job because of injury. With that said, he didn't give any reaffirmation that Grilli was getting the job back either. Melancon could keep it, Grilli could get it back, or they could even split in some capacity that makes them both relevant. It's a fluid situation.

should I go ahead and drop Melancon now for Motte? since they'll both be in the set up role soon with Motte more likely to be a closer in the future

I have Soria, Soriano and G Perkins already

I personally believe Melancon has a better shot at saves than Motte. I don't see Rosenthal losing his job though.

Melancon hasn't really made much of his opportunity since Grilli's injury. So it's Grilli's job

Keep Melancon until Grill actually replaces him. Your goal is get as many saves as possible (without killing era and whip).

I'm holding on to Melancon in my league. I could see him getting the job back. I don't trust Grilli to keep the job or stay healthy.

I have them both in my lineup today and it paid off. Melancon got the save. He had a run scored though, but 2 Ks as well.

I will keep them both until one is no longer relevant.

So like I was saying, it's Grilli's job.

I'll still hold on to Melancon. Melancon is the better pitcher and Grilli will either be hurt or lose his job at some point.

Between this and about 8 other threads on here, I'm surprised you even still post here. You are terrible.

I was actually right about a lot of shite on here last fantasy football season. But this thread is about baseball, my 2nd best fantasy sport.

No way. Melancon is a much better pitcher. I don't see them going back to Grilli anymore.
