[quote]Joe Kotoch: Per league source Cavs look to trade Tristan Thompson. Key in probable trade is Cavs know Thompson requires a deal on par w/ Favors & Monroe Twitter @Probballdraft - See more at: LINK ]

I can't see how that would be relevant to us.

They are looking for more of a center though. Thompson is 6-8 225.

Thompson does little for me.

He's a 4, rather than a 5, and not an impressive one.

Varejao is more interesting to me, depending what Cleveland wants for him.

Tristan is definitely a PF, and not a guy that can swing PF/C. You'd be committing to playing Davis at C, so you'd have two skinny guys that would be slightly undersized for the positions.

Doesn't make a lot of sense for us. And I'm quite sure we don't have the pieces that they want.

They want a high lottery pick in this draft if they're throwing in picks. Either that or Kevin Love. He's not that bad that you have to dump him.

I thought he played the 5 at some point

Carry on then

Varejao could be nice stopgap though

I expected a lot more out of Thompson this year. He didn't improve like I thought he would. I'll pass. Not a good fit.

Varejao would be a good fit if he could stay healthy, but that is a big, if not impossible, if. He's played 81 games twice in his 9 year career.

shite, use the San Antonio method and rest him for a certain number of games a year.

The important things would be him getting chemistry with the rest of the team and being healthy for the playoffs.

How old is Varejao now? He can't have more than two years in the league as a legit starter.

You pretty much answered yourself on why that wouldn't work here. The Spurs could play once a year and still have great chemistry because their big 3 has played together so long. Resting a guy like Varejao, playing him sparingly, then playing him full time in the playoffs on a new team, with young players wouldn't work as well as it does with the Spurs.
